Earthquake Update
Thank you so very much for your prayers and concern. Your support and caring truly does make a difference during these difficult times. We thank God that For Haiti with Love is on the north coast of Haiti, away from the center of the two major earthquakes, so we were only ‘shaken up’, not damaged…so far. The most recent tremor a few days ago, however, was closer to Cap Haitien than any of the others. We pray each day that the worst has passed. Roseline and Presume have always been busy, but these days they are nearly frantic in their efforts to ensure that our staff has the oversight and supplies needed to handle the thousands of Port-au-Prince refugees that continue to pour north. Of course, throughout all this we haven’t lessened our local clinic and hunger relief efforts, so meeting all these new demands has been a tremendous strain on all of our staff.
We have been flooded with emails and requests about how people can help. Please know that donations of any type are always welcome…
But right now our ministry primarily needs $$
For Haiti With Love has never charged the struggling people of Haiti a single cent for our efforts, nor will we ever. Our focus has always been strictly and solely on getting those in need back on their feet—but since the quakes, the sheer size and volume of the need is staggering. We can see desperation in all directions. The Haitian people need our help now more than ever.
In a recent blessing, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines opened their cargo holds to established charities working in Haiti. Their gracious offer will allow us, for the duration of this crisis and relief effort, to ship supplies of all types from the U.S. to our Haitian headquarters at no cost. This effectively will save us thousands of dollars each week, money that we will be able to dedicate toward more food, more medical supplies, and more shelter for the Haitian people. We also have other new friends supporting our efforts: the Burn Advocates Network is helping with medical supplies as well as food for our hunger relief programs. Their generosity also granted us the privilege of distributing thousands of pounds of orthopedic supplies to other hospitals in north Haiti that are dealing with quake victim bone fractures and amputations.
In the heart of the recent devastation, we have found some reason to rejoice; the new networking in Cap Haitien is very exciting. Each day we seem to establish communications with new friends and new partner organizations, all of which will allow us to reach further and do more to alleviate the suffering that has become so common on this island nation that struggles at the very edge of existence. God is working openly through many hearts right now.
We thank you for your prayers. They are working!
Please be well and God Bless you all!

Picture your house, mentally remove EVERYTHING that uses either
electricity or running water. Now, remove all carpeting and stuffed
furniture, including the bed. Replace this with straw mat. No floors, no slab, just bare earth and a thatched roof. Take out all the screens in your house. While your at it remove the windows and the doors. No grass around the house. Got a good picture? Good. Now picture yourself with no car, or bike, or shoes for that matter. No job, no unemployment or welfare checks. You have no money, no bank accounts, no credit cards, no refrigerator, no ice and no food. You are hungry, and to make matters worse, your children are hungry. On top of that they are sick, full of worms and usually naked. This is the AVERAGE Haitian!! God's people, just like you and me, just born farther south and east.

For Haiti with Love shows God's love by following the Lord's commands in Matthew 25:35-40 to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, and shelter the homeless. Giving freely of God's love and gifts to help make life better for the poorest of the poor in Northern Haiti. Medical teams are welcome to serve in the FHL 24 hour emergency medical clinic, construction volunteers for building homes or village marketplaces. We are also involved in numerous self-help projects.

"For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.Then shall the righteous answer him saying , Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?
The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
Matthew 25:35-40
