Wedding
There are a lot more common law marriages in Haiti than there are formal church weddings. This is because if they get married in the church, it is also customary to throw a big wedding reception and invite all of your relatives and friends. Now in Haiti they all still live close, so this becomes a big and costly party. Costly enough that most simply cannot afford to even think about it.
