Switchback
This "switchback" is just one of the reasons we pass when anyone wants to fly into Port au Prince to work in Cap Haitien. There are three mountain ranges to cross, two lane highway with no guard rails, and bus drivers who are firmly convinced the only safe way to drive is with the accelerator all the way to the floor and the bus or truck straddling the white line. The For Haiti with Love volunteers are requested to take a flight directly to Cap Haitien on the North coast. The round trip to Port au Prince by this road is around 10 hours. The road, like everything else in Haiti, isn't being maintained so it does not look this good any more, there are ruts that you literally drive into, across and climb out on the other side. Not a fun trip under any circumstance.
